What: News Conference – ANUENUE Interisland Digital Microwave Network “Full Operational Capability” State and U.S. Coast Guard officials will celebrate the fully operational ANUENUE Interisland Digital Microwave Network, a robust communications network for responders, search and rescue, law enforcement, emergency services and critical government operations throughout Hawai‘i.
Where: State Capitol, 5th floor Executive Chambers, Ceremonial Room
Why: The completion of this joint project has been many years in the making and represents a lasting partnership between the State of Hawai‘i and Coast Guard to share resources and capabilities to achieve a common goal of protecting and serving the people of Hawai‘i.
The ANUENUE Interisland Digital Microwave Network consists of high-capacity microwave links, radio towers, and facility buildings that interconnect and support the systems and networks relied upon by first responders, search and rescue, law enforcement, emergency services, and critical government operations. Twelve ANUENUE “high sites” located on mountain tops — many at remote locations — connect with eight sites located at state office buildings and USCG properties.
We plan to live stream the event through the governor’s website.
