Governor David Ige has formed a cabinet for his second term that will provide both continuity and fresh eyes for state departments. “These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and understanding to their work,” said the governor. “I have every confidence in these proven leaders and their commitment to the people of Hawai‘i.”
The appointments of the 17 state directors, as well as some of their deputies, are subject to Senate confirmation. State Department of Education Superintendent Christina Kishimoto and University of Hawai‘i System President David Lassner are appointed by their respective governing boards.
