Hale Kalele, an affordable housing project on Piikoi Street, is accepting applications through April 1 for a lottery later that month. The 20-story building will have 200 units with monthly rent for tenants earning 30 to 60 percent of the area median income. Depending on tenant income levels, studio units range from $542 to $1,177 a month; 1-bedrooms from $570 to $1,250; and two-bedrooms from $664 to $1,480.
