OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 30 – APRIL 5

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

 

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions on Sunday night, March 31, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will be closed during this time. Motorists will be detoured via Palama Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

 

  • Lane closures in the westbound direction are between Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 22) and the Liliha Street overpass.
  • Lane closures in the eastbound direction are between the Palama Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass.

 

4) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Middle Street Tunnel on Sunday, March 31, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., for electrical pole work.

 

5) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail project.

6) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the eastbound H-1 Freeway between the Keehi Interchange and the Middle Street Tunnel on Wednesday, April 3, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for tunnel lighting work. Motorists traveling on the H-1 Freeway are advised to take the Dillingham Boulevard offramp or the Nimitz Highway offramp as an alternate route.

 

7) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Palama Street offramp (Exit 20C) and the Houghtailing Street offramp (Exit 20B) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work.

 

8) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday night, April 1, through Tuesday morning, April 2, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for sign work. Motorists will be detoured through Center Drive.

 

9) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Tuesday night, April 2, through Friday morning, April 5, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for sign work.

10) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Roving right lane and shoulder lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions in the vicinity of the Kaonohi Street overpass on Saturday night, Dec. 1, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for maintenance work.

11) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Airport/Hickam AFB/Pearl Harbor offramp from the westbound H-1 Freeway on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work. Motorists will be detoured to the Middle Street offramp (Exit 19A).

 

12) KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kunia offramp (Exit 5B) and the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign upgrades and replacement work.

 

13) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Makakilo Drive overpass and the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1) on Sunday night, March 31, through Wednesday morning, April 3, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex Phase 2 project.

Closure of the Campbell Industrial Park offramp/Barbers Point Harbor (Exit 1A) from the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Tuesday night, April 2, through Wednesday morning, April 3, and Thursday night, April 4, through Friday morning, April 5, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for underground electrical utility work.

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign upgrades and replacement work.

 

16) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Saturday night, March 30, through Sunday morning, March 31, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Two lanes will be closed on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sunday morning. A third lane will be closed between the hours of 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction between Makaha Valley Road and Kaena Point on Saturday, March 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole maintenance work.

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway in both directions between Piliokahi Avenue and Nanakuli Avenue on Monday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for striping work.

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway in both directions between Kaukonahua Road and the Dillingham Air Field on Tuesday, April 2, and Wednesday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for pothole patching.

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in the eastbound direction between McGrew Loop and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway onramp on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail improvements.

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of the Salt Lake Boulevard intersection on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for The Rail project. The sidewalk will be closed on a 24/7 basis.

Roving lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Joseph P. Leong Highway and Kahekili Highway on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

5) KAAAWA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction between Polinalina Road and Kaaawa Place on Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole replacement work. Traffic will be contraflowed. The bike lane and sidewalk will be closed during this time.

 

6) KAHUKU

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction in the vicinity of South Golf Course Road on Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole replacement work. Traffic will be contraflowed. Sidewalk and bike lane will be closed during this time.

Alternating lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waipahu Street on Monday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for pothole patching.

1) NUUANU TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY CLOSURE)
Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, March 23, through Friday, March 29, over a 24-hour period, for slope stabilization work following the landslide. The Kailua-bound lanes will be temporarily open during the schedule below.

 

From Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5:

  • Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • The Kailua-bound direction will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

 

2) NUUANU

Roving lane closure on the Pali Highway in the Kailua-bound direction between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

Right lane closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction between Coelho Way and Dowsett Avenue on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for utility work and other construction activities.

  • Right lane will be closed from Waokanaka Street to Dowsett Avenue from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Lane will be closed at the Funchal Street intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access to Honolulu-bound Pali Highway will be limited to school traffic only. Traffic will be detoured via South Kuakini Street.
  • Lane will be closed from the Wyllie Street overpass to South Kuakini Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Right lane will be closed from the eastbound H-1 Freeway offramp to Vineyard Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

Alternating lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in both directions between Rice Street and Anonui Street on Monday, April 1, and Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for pavement striping.
