On May 24, approximately 60 volunteers came together to prepare the housing spaces for Pūlama Ola, the first medical respite kauhale built by Governor Green’s Administration. Comprised of 10 livable units, a medical unit, and a space for the project manager, the site will have round-the-clock security as well as staffing to assist with the needs of those who are housed there. Pūlama Ola will open in early June and serve those discharged from urban hospitals who still need medical care.
