HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF TAXATION ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF KONA OFFICE DECEMBER 4-5, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 24, 2025

HONOLULU — The Hawaiʻi Department of Taxation (DOTAX) will temporarily close its Kona Office in the State Office Building located at 82-6130 Mamalahoa Hwy. #8, in
Captain Cook.

The office will be closed on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and Friday, December 5, 2025, to complete office renovations aimed at better serving taxpayers. It will reopen to the public on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Taxpayers may still use the drop box (mail slot) located at the Kona State Tax Office to drop off their returns. Phone calls will be automatically routed to the Hilo State Tax Office for assistance. Taxpayers may call the Hilo location of the State Tax Office directly at 808-974-6321 and taxpayers are encouraged to use our Hawaiʻi Tax Online web-services portal at hitax.hawaii.gov.
